How to distinguish genuine leather ,full grain leather and top grain leather ? < GENUINE LEATHER > Definition :What is genuine leather ? •Definition between genuine leather , top grain leather , full grain leather - its term of position in the hide . The “genuine leather” is the lower (inner) layers of the hide are stripped off. The ability to take multiple layers from one hide depends on the thickness of the skin. Some skins, like cow, are often able to be split into various levels. Genuine leather can come from the intermediate layers – between top grain and suede. Appearance •It can call the whole on appearances. In some places, even the bottom rung of leather product – can be called “genuine.”So there’s no consistent appearance to this class of leather. The outer, higher-quality parts in the hide are “top grain”. It is produced from the hide but the outermost layer is sanded off and buffing so that any imperfection or irregularities are removed. Gets rid of any wrinkles, scars, blemishes and defects that may exist on the outer surface of the leather. It’s a durable product although not quite as tough as full grain leather . Appearance • Soft and shows natural character : in a consistent and uniform look. Advantages •Thinner and more suitable for working and tooling by the manufacturer . If it gets wet or you spill something on it, wipe it dry using a soft clean cloth, never use heat to dry it as the leather may crack from over drying. •Condition the leather with a high-quality leather conditioner at least twice a year.
